Works begins on new government accommodations

GIU – BRADES – Work has begun on the government accommodations project at the Brades headquarters.

According to Project Manager and Director of the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Owen Lewis, the $2.85 million project is expected to take 65 weeks and is to be ready in the first quarter of 2012.

Winning the architectural bid was Alfred Dyett & Associates and the construction will be done by Lendroy Construction, whose owner Lennox Tuitt will oversee the construction of the building.

The new office complex will be three storeys and covers 8,000 square feet.

The accounting department for the project is the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade, lead by Permanent Secretary Angela Greenaway.
