In the September 30, 2016 issue of TMR we carried an article “Airlines visiting other islands increase” which came out of Dominica.
The article was submitted, but provided the following comment which no doubt our readers had seen similar comments and information before. The discussions that emanate from such comments surround the word that is common on many tongues, but we ask, “does anyone bother to really consider what is involved with it?” Access!!

“This is an interesting article and I forward it as the content of the final paragraph should make us
enquire about the valid reasons why our “powers that be” are deliberately denying not only
Montserratians but also any potential visitor to the island the comfort and ease of travel that this airline would provide. The present airlines serving Montserrat are either unable or disinclined to provide these services. Tourism consultants to the island have pointed out this shortcoming which could be responsible for lack of growth in our tourism industry, and possibly to the whole island.
In fact, one consultant went so far as to point out that Montserrat might be the only place in the world where this facility is unavailable. To be able to book a flight right through to Montserrat from the comfort of your home from almost anywhere in the world.”
