Barbados based Mr Hadford Howell, MBE the regional representative for UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will visit Montserrat next week for a series of meetings with officials and business leaders over a three day period.
UKTI is a non ministerial department of the British Government working with UK based industries to ensure their success in international markets through exports. It also encourages and supports overseas companies to look to the UK as the best place to set up or expand their business ventures.
During his visit, Mr Howell will meet with Government Ministers and officials, the members of the opposition, DFID officials, MDC officials and leaders of the local business community. The visit is a result of a commitment in the last White Paper to improve contact between Britain and its Overseas Territories in a wide range of areas.
Mr Howell last visited Montserrat in the year 2000 when he organised a British Trade Mission to the island. His current visit is being organised by the Governor’s Office.
