Three foreigners detained on drug charges

ROSEAU, Dominica,  CMC – Police say three foreigners, including a Jamaican national, have been remanded into custody after they were found with more than 400 pounds of marijuana during an operation by the marine unit.

Police Public Relations Officer, Acting Inspector, Pellam Jno Baptiste, said that Jamaican Ralph James and St. Vincent and the Grenadines nationals Jeffrey Stapleton and Alwyn Lawrence were detained off the coast of Scotts Head, southwest of here, after on open keel boat from Antigua was intercepted last weekend.

He said 419 pounds of marijuana were seized and that the men have been jointly charged with possession and possession with intent to supply marijuana.
