The Most Famous Landmark Tree on Montserrat DESECRATED

Mr. Editor,                                                      29/11/2014

Allow me to OPENLY vent my frustration, to the fact that the property owners of the FAMOUS Cudjoe Head Tree, have mangled/cut off several branches off of our Historical tree to erect a small wooden building, for what?? WHY ??..

Yes our Famous Cudjoe head tree, stemming back to the days of slavery, hence the historical hanging of our famous slave Cudjoe, possible the actual branch, has been CUT OFF, WHY.. WHY..WHY??..

One of Montserrat’s most experienced tree cutters, was ask to preform the job which he declined, as he knew that, that tree was of Historical significance, and should have NEVER EVER EVER been touched..

Who gave this person permission to desecrate, this our only standing historical tree on island, living since before slavery was abolished..
The National Trust, and the Government of Montserrat, SHOULD take some action, in this regard..

I await the response of Our Government and National Trust in this regard..

If they were consulted before this Famous tree was Desecrated and IF Permission was Granted to them??..
Signed,

Capt. John

CC. Hon Premier Donaldson Romeo.
