GIU – A teddy bear named Ted is on a world tour and paid a visit to Montserrat this week.

Ted is the mascot from the Humanities Faculty of Fowey Community College in Cornwall, United Kingdom. The teddy bear’s journey is inspiring several different pieces of work of interest to the students about the wider world and different cultures.

The Governor’s Office is assisting with his visit and so he attended Thursday’s monthly press conference with His Excellency the Governor Adrian Davis.

With the help of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and some of the British Embassies and High Commissions, Ted has travelled to over 31 countries and has been granted his own passport.

On Friday, Ted visited local schools and got a helicopter ride to view the Soufriere Hills Volcano.

Ted heads off to Ecuador next week with a member of the Governor’s office.
