  1. The following paper was laid on the table:

       Attorney General

          S R & O No.1 of 2017              Race and Speed Trail (Designation of Place) Order 2017.

  1. The Introduction and First Reading of the following Bill took place on 24th  January 2017:

                                                 ‘Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill 2017’

First Reading 24th January  2017

The Bill seeks to amend the Public Holidays Act (Cap. 6.09) (“the Act”).  Clause 1 of the Bill sets out the short title of the Bill.  Clause 8 of the Bill repeals and replaces the Schedule to the Act. In the amended Schedule, the following are inserted as annual public holidays: (i) Anniversary of the birth of Her Majesty – first Monday in June; and (ii) Festival Day – 31 December

The Bill also seeks to amend the schedule to provide that if a public holiday falls on a Saturday and a public holiday falls on the next following Sunday, the next following Monday and Tuesday are public holidays.              

  1. The following Bills were deferred to the next sitting of the Legislative Assembly
  1. Tax Compliance (Amendment) Certificate Bill 2016
  2. Conservation and Environmental Management Bill 2016
  1. The Advance Passenger Information Bill 2016 was withdrawn.

Bills that had their first readings can be read in their entirety at any of the following places:
