Milan Ferdinand (file Photo) Child-SLUCASTRIES, St. Lucia, Oct 23, CMC – Police have charged a 24-year-old woman with murder following the death of four year-old Milan Ferdinand who died earlier this month as a result of severe brain damage and head injury due to blunt force trauma.

Police said that Kersharma William Ferdinand of the fishing village of Grand Ravine, Dennery, east of here, also faces a charge of ill treatment and that her 24-year-old husband, Marlon Ferdinand, the child’s father, had been charged for the offences of ill treatment, neglect and exposed/abandonment.

A post mortem had found that the child, who passed away at the Victoria Hospital on October 9, had died as a result of severe brain damage and head injury due to blunt force trauma and that there were multiple blunt force traumas all over the body.

The child’s mother, who had asked not to be identified, had earlier asked police to investigate the matter after she said that the father had indicated that Milan did not fall and his step mother saying he had fallen.

“I really want to know what happened to my son,” she said.
