On Friday, September 6th the St Anthony Freemason Lodge on Montserrat handed over a cheque for $2,500 to the Social Serviced Department to help with the provision of supplies, uniforms, and lunch for vulnerable children who are going back to school in the Montserrat Community.

For the last six years, the lodge has made this one of its charitable projects in the Montserrat Community. The cheque was handed over at the Offices of the Department of Social Services to Mrs. Teresena Fergus the Director of Social Services by the current Master of the Lodge Mr. Kendal Lee.

Also in attendance were the treasurer of the Lodge Mr. Albrun Semper and past treasure Mr. Kenneth Silcott.

The back to school assistance project is one of the charitable causes to which the Lodge on Montserrat as a fraternal organisation specifically raises funds for on an annual basis, and is committed to continue doing so, for the foreseeable future.

On receiving the  contribution Mrs. Fergus, the Director of Social Services commented that the Department was unable to meet all the needs of the clients who required assistance and that they look forward to the donation from the lodge on a yearly basis, and even more so this year.
