Seven women vying for Regional Female Calypso Crown

LITTLE BAY, Montserrat – The ladies have begun to arrive to prepare for Saturday night’s Regional Female Calypso competition.

This is the only competition of its kind in the Caribbean and the Montserrat Festival Committee made the decision to host the event which was previously run by Euphony Vibes in 2012.

Chrystal Cummins-Beckles of Barbados is expected to return to defend her crown which she won in 2012 at the inaugural competition.

Silvina Kandi Malone is to represent Montserrat. Also slated to compete are Shaunell McKenzie of St. Vincent, Menell of St. Lucia, Jacqueline Leader of St. Kitts, Princess Thalia from Antigua and Queen B of Anguilla.

Showtime is 8pm at Festival Village.
