Serial rapist sentenced to 40 years in prison

KINGSTON, Jamaica,  CMC – A man who pleaded guilty to raping five females, including a child, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Patrick Green, 27, who pleaded guilty to the 2012 incident earlier this week, will also receive psychiatric treatment.

The police report that on the night of September 24, 2012, Green sexually assaulted four women and an eight-year-old child in the western parish of St. James.

He was charged in January of this year after his DNA matched samples found by investigators at the scene of the crime.

The police had previously charged brothers Kerron and Sheldon Brissett for the brutal 2012 rape, but they were exonerated in  July  2013, after almost a year behind bars, when DNA results failed to place them at the scene of the crime.

The brothers have since sued the State.
