Senior magistrate loses her home to ‘severe’ fire

Absentee homeowner Senior Magistrate Veronica Dorsette-Hector has suffered loss when her home on the inside was devastated by fire in the mid-morning of Dorsette house fire (1)Tuesday this week. The Royal Montserrat Police Service and Fire & Rescue Service are conducting investigations into the cause of the fire on Hibiscus dreive in the Olveston area.

Senior fire officers described the fire as very severe, but because the on-going investigations into the fire which destroyed the inside of the downstairs of the two storye house, the Deputy Chief Fire Officer there was not much he could disclose about the fire.

They said that they responded promptly to the scene and on arrival at the scene met a double story structure on fire and quickly started fire fighting operations. No information was available as to how the fire began.

While the location is being treated as a crime scene, according to one police officer who said: “… we’ll treat it as a crime scene until we can ascertain the true cause and the nature of the fire.”
