Royal Bank of Canada makes late Christmas gift to Salem Day Care

Royal Bank of Canada makes donation to Salem Daycare

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) Manager, Montserrat manager, Cassandra Ryan has pleaded that donating a television to the Salem Child and Day Care Centre is not a case of training future clients for the RBC.

The event took place on January 17, this year at the Centre when the manager and a junior staff member Camille Grey made the presentation of a television set. “The television is Royal Bank gift to you. It’s your late Christmas gift, so merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you from the Royal Bank,” Ryan told the teachers and children.

Miss Ryan was later asked if the action was “training future clients for the RBC?” She responded, “I wouldn’t exactly plead that, but yes, ultimately that they are part of the community … we so we are giving back a little Christmas cheer…”

Miss Ryan later added, that RBC continues to reinforce that, “we must seek to demonstrate that we are interested in the education of our children…”

She referred to Dr. Sheron Burns who acknowledged and thanked the bank on behalf of the Ministry of Education, “so rightly said, that they are the future,” and they form part of our client base.”

“Learning the right things through the television, through this medium, these are the new exciting ways kids learn…” she concluded.

The Cheryl Fergus, acting senior nursery nurse of the Centre officially thanked the presenters on while Dr. Burns overall manager of the Centres added, “the education of our children is a collaborative effort between not only the Government of Montserrat, the parents and the care givers, but also the business community…”
