Round two of the Village Basketball continues

Basketball fans were a bit disappointed at the postponement of last Friday’s basketball game for the Village Basketball league; however, round two continued, Saturday Sept 1st at the Brades Basketball court.

The game was postponed to accommodate a football promo-match to showcase the national football team.

On Saturday St. Peters Hilltop played against Jammers to kick-off the first game.

Hilltop came out on top, scoring a hearty 74 points against Jammers 68 points.

Top Scorers for Hilltop were: Halloran Bobb with 20 points, 4 assists, 14 rebounds and 2 steals.

Seon Evelyn -15 points, 6 assist, 6 rebounds, 3 steals; and John Osborne -14 points, 1 assist and 2 rebounds.

Meanwhile Top Scorers for Jammers were: Jamual Wade -27 points, 3 assists, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Otiz Miller -16 points,  1 assist,  7 rebounds and Phillip McPherson -6 points,  9 rebounds,  2 steals and 1 block.

In game two, Davy Hill Ghetto Stars came up against MSS School. Ghetto Stars defeated MSS 96 for 82.

Top scorers for the Stars were: Nichon Weekes -48 points, 5 assists, 11 rebounds and 6 steals. Vaughn Fenton -13 points, 2 assist, 9 rebound, 3 steals and 1 block. Rodney Browne -11 points, 4 assist, 2 rebound and  4 steals.

Top scorers for MSS were: Julius Morris- 26 points, 4 assists, 14 rebounds and 4 steals. Christum Weekes- 23 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. Chaquille Sam- 21 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block.

On Friday August 24th, round two of the leagued commenced when Salem Jammers and MSS kick off the first game. MSS came up short and Salem defeated the youngsters 92 for 71 points. In game 2, Lookout Shooters came up against St. Peters Hilltop. Shooters defeated Hilltop 69 for 66 points.

The following evening Davy Hill Ghetto Stars came up against Salem Jammers. Ghetto Stars took the win with 74 points to Salem’s 65 points. Meanwhile game two featured St. Peters Hilltop against Cudjoe Head Renegades. Hilltop took the win with the score 67 for 56 points.
