RMPS launches new website

The Royal Montserrat Police Service (RMPS) announced on May 8, 2013, the official launch their independent website.

In a release the RMPS says that “The purpose of this internet portal is to maximize communication between the communities and the police thus improving efficiency and effective service delivery to the populace of Montserrat.”

The release stated: “The RMPS Website was designed and created internally as a result of a policing review recommendation to be a modernized service, aligned with the ever-changing police and technology environment.”

The RMPS says the website outlines who they are, what they do and the many services they provide, offering  easier access to information and documents that may be required by the public on a regular basis.

As an example, the site offers persons travelling to Montserrat wishing to have a “temporary drivers license”, they no longer need to wait until their arrival to seek the necessary documentation; the form may be retrieved from the Police website and can be completed and presented on arrival at the Immigration desk.

The release warns. “The website is continuously exchanging new and updated information. Advice: Check back often, to view many more online forms and applications as the website evolves.
