Red House emerged Road Race champs

Red House athletes

Red House, with 61 points, emerged winners of the St. Augustine Primary School Road Race on Friday. Coming in the second place with 60 points was Yellow house. The Blue House team trailed the pack with 59.

According to a release issued by Head Teacher Ann Marie Dewar, taking the three tops spots for Class One boys and girls were – Ezekiel  Walters of Red House, Yannik  Cabey of Yellow, and    Trevor  Hunte    of Blue House and Shay-Reese Chambers of Yellow House, Khayla  West    of Red House and Deandre Percival of Red House.

For Class Two Dashawn Bassaragh of Blue House and Beyonce Osborne  of Yellow ran away with the first place in the separate races. Their counterparts Alfred Cole of Yellow and Khyra    West of Red stole the second places in their respective categories. In the third place for the Class Two Boys and Girls Race were Sydney Mendes of Red and Connise Silcott of Yellow.

As the older children took the trail, the distance was increased. Class Three Aaron Lewis of Blue, Jemuel Cabey of Yellow and Jave Browne of Blue House scored the first, second and third positions respectively. For the girls in the same level Theonna Johnson of Blue, Mikila Gittens of Red and Jameina St. Hill of Red House came in first, second and third respectively.

The events were run off without any hitches. Commendably, dozens of parents turned out to offer support to the young ones. Some even ran the distance with them.
