ROSEAU, Dominica, Oct. 13, CMC – Leader of opposition United Workers Party (UWP) plans to table a motion of no confidence in Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit when Parliament convenes on October 19.
In the motion, opposition leader, Lennox Linton has accused the Prime Minister of mismanaging the economy.
It also states that the management of the economy is evidenced by “ rising unemployment, sharp decline in the performance of agriculture, tourism manufacturing, construction and service sectors and an increase the trade deficit and a massive national debt.”
The Parliament consists of 32 members, in the lower house the ruling Dominica Labour Party 15 members and five senators, while the UWP has six elected members, four senators and an ex officio member, who is the Attorney General.
