Participation in the TCIP for Securities Regulators by Members of the EC Securities Regulatory Commission

Two members of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Regulatory Commission (ECSRC), Commissioner Ambrose Sylvester and Securities Analyst Marissa Richardson, have recently benefitted from a week of intense training by way of the Toronto Centre International Program for Securities Regulators, from July 26 to 31, 2015. They joined twenty six other delegates from twenty different countries to participate in the Program which was conducted at the Schulich School of Business, which is York University’s business school, located in Toronto, Canada.

The ECSRC is the regulatory body to the Eastern Caribbean Securities Market (ECSM) and was established in 2001 following the passage of the Securities Act by all eight member countries of the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU). Two critical aspects of the ECSRC’s mandate include Investor Protection, and Growth and Development of Capital Markets in the Sub region.

The ECSRC is chaired by former Deputy Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Sir Errol Allen with Attorney Arthur Thomas as Deputy Chairman. Other Commissioners include Dr. Vincent Richards and Mrs. Lucia Livingston-Andall.
