MSS to get greenhouses in BNTF Agricultural Science project

The Montserrat Secondary School (M.S.S.) will reportedly be the beneficiary of two newly constructed greenhouses, thanks to the Basic Needs Trust Fund. The report says that the greenhouses will be the first of two components of the BNTF funded Agricultural Science Project, which have elements for the the training of students in modern agricultural techniques.

BNTF manager Mr. Mervyn Browne says a consultant from Jamaica is already on island to oversee the project, but the Agricultural Science master at the MSS has said that other than being told about July last year about greenhouses, almost in passing, he has heard and knows nothing further of the matter or project.

Brown told ZJB Radio News, “Hopefully we should be completing those two greenhouses within a month. Once the greenhouses are up and running it will be entirely up to the school with some assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture how they move forward with that particular Agriculture Science Project.”
