GIU – The Policy and Planning Division in the Cabinet Secretariat has now released the final versions of three reports which look at Montserrat’s living conditions.
The three reports are: The Government of Montserrat and the Caribbean Development Bank Final Report Country Poverty Assessment Volume 2. The Policy and Planning Division coordinated the research and surveys which lead to the final documents. During 2012 consultations were held with local stakeholders to gather their views on the findings. The reports identify the extent, characteristics and causes of poverty in Montserrat; evaluate the effectiveness of current policies and programmes in terms of their impact on the poor and vulnerable groups of the population and makes recommendations for future policies and programmes to contribute to the reduction of poverty in the country.
