Jeremy Lewis, 30, and Roul Hesse, 23, were jailed for life at the Old Bailey Court last week after being found guilty of the murder.

They will serve a minimum of 30 years.

Michelle Amoateng, the mother of Mr. Sweeney’s two-year-old told the London evening Standard that the family is pleased that his killers got such a long sentence, but they will still be out in 30 years and the family won’t ever see James again. “There can never be justice” she said.

In a victim impact statement read to the Old Bailey Court, members of Mr. Sweeney’s family who live in Montserrat said that “Words cannot describe the pain they bear from the passing and the brutal manner in which Sweeney was killed”.

The family also indicated that they were utterly broken by his murder, adding that James was “so loving, so strong, so personable and humble”.

The statement also stated that James worked hard for the little he had, and that little went to his children.
