Montserrat’s reputation is among the best in the region when it comes to the administration of my exams by the Caribbean Examinations Council CXC, exclaimed in a recent news report.
According to CXC officials, Montserrat is one of two islands that have not committed any irregularities over the years. The British Virgin Islands is the other country to receive mention. Local CXC Registrar Yasmin White made the disclosure during the recent national CXC Awards Ceremony.
Miss White told ZJB News, “Now CXC values the integrity of its examinations. Every year a number of irregularities is reported to CXC fortunately and I say with great pride we in Montserrat have managed to avoid committing those errors those irregularities. Last year, CXC noted at least seventeen Irregularities across the region but then they sent an email to us and it listed the irregularities and then it said congratulations Montserrat did not offend in any of these.
Lauding a group of people, she outlined: “Over the years the Ministry of Education has relied on a group of people who have integrity; they are honest, they adapt quickly, they follow instructions, but most importantly, they show concern for our students.”
Making references, Miss White said these are persons, “who supervise and invigilate our exams for a month and a half during the May/June exams and for about three weeks during the January exams.”
