Mr. Editor
Could you explain this? Can you justify it Sir?
The Department of Agriculture has four (4) Veterinary employees. Two (2) full time Vets and two (2) Veterinary Assistants. I wonder if, but No Department of Agriculture anywhere in the world boasts any such luxury.
There is no longer a livestock industry. Not like how it was. Even then having so many would have been questioned strongly by good administrators.
There are no veterinary clinics. Animal Agriculture dead long time ago. Even the few times when service is needed by the public no one turns up to give it.
One Assistant went on an extended holiday. A Veterinarian was brought in from Dominica to replace him. Two years have passed and he is still here. And now is it really true that attempts are now made to have him permanently on staff? – Ask yourself why Sir.
Every body there tell me that Veterinarian spends much of his time just selling feed for animals in a shop owned by the other Veterinarian. That shop is on the Department’s compound itself. Feed is sold on Government time by Government employees. That shop is the focus of the two of them, the owner and his partner as assistant.
These two guys are paid from the public purse.
Would DFID and the PDM government see this and close their eyes?
