The Royal Couple share in a kiss

Prince William and Kate Middleton have made their vows to each other during their wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

The couple was watched by 2,000 friends, family and dignitaries inside the abbey, and an estimated 2 billion people around the world.

The bride wore a gown by now famous Sarah Burton, and the prince, wearing the red tunic of an Irish Guards colonel, repeated their vows as led by the Archbishop the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Rowan Williams.

Montserrat’s Chief Minister Reuben T Meade and his wife Rev. Dr. Joan Delsol Meade were honorary guess to the wedding.

Meanwhile, His Excellency Governor Adrian Davis, declared his first public holiday as Governor in Montserrat on the wedding day.

Prince William and his newly titled bride the Duchess of Cambridge shared a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, as more than a million people descend on central London for the occasion.

They were cheered by 500,000 well-wishers who gathered outside the palace, as RAF planes flew past in honour of the new royal couple.

Police estimate a million people lined the procession route from the abbey to the palace.

Reports this week say the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are spending their first weekend as a married couple at a secret location.

The couple, who married on Friday, has opted to delay their honeymoon, with Prince William returning to his job as an RAF helicopter pilot on Tuesday.

Sunday papers have reported speculation about their weekend stay, including various royal residences. The honeymoon details have yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, Clarence House has said the dress may go on public display.
