Health tips, and Recipes

Go Fish
Yes, fish contains heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids — but that’s just the beginning. Fish is also rich in selenium, which, according to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, is known to up the production of proteins that bolster the body’s immune system.

Mental Fatigue
Don’t confuse being mentally tired with being physically tired! After a hard day at the office your brain will be exhausted but your body has only been sitting down. A workout will help you to de-stress, improve your energy levels and help you sleep better.

Do your heels lift when you squat?
If you answer yes to this question then the liklihood is that your hip flexors are too tight. Try this kneeling hip flexor stretch as a good starting point. Assume a half kneeling position on the floor with your right leg in front of your body and your right foot on the floor with a bent knee. Place your hands on your hips for support and lean forward slightly. Hold for 15 to 20 seconds and repeat one to three times as needed on both sides.

Love Handles
Want to get rid of those Love Handles? Love Handles is another name for the area of the abs called the obliques. Its a myth that lots of side bending will help eliminate them as side bends will build up the muscle around the obliques instead making them appear bigger! Losing love handles and increasing the metabolism so you can lose weight more effectively are all tied into a consistent cardiovascular / resistance training program. The stored fat around your mid-section (for men in particular) is typically the last to leave your body even after months or years of an exercise plan.
