Miss Annesta Fergus of the Governor’s office made the presentation of £200 to Red Cross officials on Tuesday this week, July 7, 2017 where she informed that Governor Davis “went to speak about the volcano, Montserrat’s volcano to the students there.”

She said the Governor had asked her “to hand over the check to you now.” Receiving on behalf of the Red Cross branch were Richard Aspin, executive director and Miss Milykhia McKenzie, treasurer.

Thank you very much,” Aspin a former press officer for many Governors since the late 90s, said to Annesta. “We’d like to thank you Annesta for delivering the check for us and also of course thank the principal, staff and students of the Lochinver School in London, and especially Adrian and wife, Sujue Davis.

Mr. Aspin asked that thanks be conveyed “to them for thinking of the Montserrat Red Cross,” pointing out, “they were the patrons for a long time (while In Montserrat), and so it’s always a pleasure.”

He also advised that, “this donation is for our youth activities.”
