Former employees of Delta Petroleum Ltd. in Montserrat, Misses Yolanda Royer and Dawnelle Hussey appeared in court on Monday for the preliminary Inquiry into charges they face brought against them in November last year. They were arrested, charged and had appeared before Magistrate Veronica Dorsette-Hector on Monday, November 14. They were granted bail in the sum of $120,000 each with two sureties.
At the time of their arrests Royer was facing 69 counts of theft totaling $150,605.55, while Hussey was charged with 42 counts of theft totaling $88,692.99. Both Royer and Hussey are jointly charged with forgery, uttering forged documents, obtaining property by deception and conspiracy to defraud Delta Petroleum Ltd.
The preliminary enquiry is an investigation into the alleged offence to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to put the accused on trial before the high court.
While on bail the young women were both ordered to report at the Royal Montserrat Police Service Headquarter in Brades once per week.
