Did you know that skipping breakfast could hurt your heart?
In a study of nearly 27,000 men over age 45, those who reported regularly skipping breakfast were 27% more likely to suffer heart attacks or die from coronary disease than those who didn’t miss the meal.
Why: Skipping breakfast may contribute to other coronary risk factors, such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
Good way to start the day: A breakfast of chopped fruit and nuts sprinkled on a bowl of whole-grain cereal or steel-cut oats, topped with milk or yogurt.
