BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Aug 4, CMC – An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 rattled Barbados on Tuesday afternoon, but there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The Seismic Research Unit of the St. Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies said the tremor occurred at around 3.26 pm (local time).
It said the quake, the latest in a series to hit the island, was located 142 km north-east of the capital at latitude at 13.90 degrees north and longitude 58.61 west. It had a depth of 72 kilometres.
The quake was 263 kilometres east of Castries, St. Lucia and 285 east-south-east of Fort De France in Martinique.
