VACANCY NOTICE

PHARMACIST

The Government of Montserrat is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Pharmacist within the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Government of Montserrat.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to be responsible for the prompt and efficient delivery of pharmaceuticals and monitoring of stock levels while providing professional advice and assisting with the implementation of plans and programmes.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Dispense pharmaceuticals to the public and fill pharmaceutical orders from the wards, geriatric homes, clinics and private doctors as required based on Government’s medication legislations and procedures;
  • Maintain accurate records of medications dispensed to ensure efficient management of pharmaceutical stocks by;

Numbering, dating and filling all completed prescriptions according to established procedures.

Maintaining individual ‘bin cards’ for all drugs to facilitate stocktaking.

Maintaining Drug Utilization Review records by reference to filled prescriptions.

  • Supply health care providers and clients with professional pharmaceutical advice and information regarding availability of drugs, prescribing protocols, usage procedures, side effects and appropriate alternatives etc;
  • Assist with the formation and implementation of plans and programmes to ensure proper pharmaceutical standards and efficient delivery of services;
  • Perform miscellaneous related duties such as:

          Recording and dispensing dangerous drugs to ensure security in the  

          absence of the Senior Pharmacist.

 Assisting with the ordering of drugs and other supplies.

 Assisting with the preparation of Annual and other Reports.

 Ensuring the appropriate disposal of discarded reports.

  • Perform on-call duties as required and to deputize in the absence of the

Senior Pharmacist.

Qualifications and Experience:

The Applicant should:

  • Have a BSc in Pharmacy
  • Have four (4) years experience as a Pharmacist
  • Be registered to practice as a Pharmacist
  • Be able to communicate verbally and in writing effectively
  • Be a team player
  • Possess basic computer skills

Terms of Appointment

Appointment will be made on a contractual or permanent basis. 

Remuneration Package

Basic Salary

The salary scale for the post is R28-22, that is, EC$41, 760 to $50, 976 per annum (taxable).

Business Development & Marketing Officer

The Bank of Montserrat Limited (BOML) has a vacancy for a Business Development & Marketing Officer.

The Business Development & Marketing Officer will have the responsibility to devise, develop and deliver a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy to drive business development, sales and the BOML brand both locally and within the Montserrat diaspora communities aboard.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and deliver the strategy for the attainment of BOML’s new business development, marketing and communication plans within budgetary limits.
  • Review and develop all advertising-related opportunities in line with the Bank’s policy.
  • Innovate and offer new ideas for the Bank’s product and service offerings and product campaigns to generate new business.
  • Organize all the Bank’s branding activities, such as – educational seminars, group meetings, products and services launch.
  • Network and keep abreast of trends, news, events and deadlines, so that all possible, new or enhanced opportunities are exploited.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent communication, rapport building, networking and relationship management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial drive, passion and ability to help shape the Bank’s marketing and communication department.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite of products – PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.

The successful candidate must have:

  • B.Sc. in Management, Marketing or related field
  • At least 5 years experience working in a business development, marketing or sales role in a corporate environment, preferably a bank.
  • At least 3 years marketing and branding experience.
  • Experience with developing, writing and delivering external communication programmes, preferably in a banking environment.
  • Experience in developing high-quality written content for different communication channels including emails, adverts, presentations, etc.

Compensation will be based on level of experience and qualifications held.

Senior Risk & Compliance Officer

The Bank of Montserrat has a vacancy for a Senior Risk & Compliance Officer.

The Senior Risk & Compliance Officer will have responsibility for managing, monitoring, analyzing, and escalating issues and concerns related to the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT), risk and compliance programs; to include all applicable local, regional and international laws and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the Bank’s AML/CFT program by ensuring that the Bank is in compliance with all regulations permitting to AML/CFT.
  • Carries out compliance monitoring, internal control risk assessments, and internal control testing, to ensure that there are adequate processes, procedures and internal controls to promote an effective compliance control environment, under the guidance of the Audit and Compliance Committee.
  • Prioritizes focus toward areas identified as having the highest levels of risk to the Bank.
  • Assists in the development of new and/or updates policy and procedures related to AML, Risk and Compliance.
  • Ensures that the Bank has an approved risk appetite statement and that this appetite is communicated through the Institution and included within the risk reporting templates
  • Completes special projects as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Working knowledge of banking operations, particularly in the areas of AML/CFT, Risk and Compliance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local, regional and international regulations pertaining to compliance; ex. Local AML Laws and Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act, US Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT ACT as it relates to Correspondent Banking
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and problem-solving/analytical skills required.
  • Experience with AML Monitoring Systems such as Yellowhammer.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel etc.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Sc in Accounting, Economics, Banking and Finance or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management and compliance in the Banking or financial service field with a strong understanding of KYC, EDD, Financial crime investigations and regulatory reporting.
  • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certification or equivalent.
  • Risk Management Certification would be an asset
