NOTICE OF SALE OF PROPERTY

Pursuant to a Judgment of The Court dated 30th January 2014 an Order of the Court dated 6th April 2016 the High Court will sell by the following property by Public Auction on Friday 19th May 2017 at 10.00 am on location at the property.

Block 14/ 9 Parcel 20 St John’s Registration Section, comprising.0 23 acres, situated in Davy Hill.  The property is registered in the names of Wilford Meade and Idabelle Meade. The property is a single story structure comprising three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a utility room. It is surrounded by fruit trees and ornamental trees. It is serviced by overhead telephone lines, electrical power lines, domestic water lines and has road access to the property. The property has scenic views of Redonda and Nevis.

Conditions of Sale

 Upset price E.C. $ 340 000.00

  • A non-refundable deposit of 10% of the Bid Price will be collected at the fall of the hammer.

Failure to pay the 10 % deposit at the fall of the hammer will result in the property being offered to the person who has made the next highest bid or the property being re- auctioned.

  • The balance of the purchase price must be paid within 30 days of the date of the auction failing which the 10 % deposit already paid will be forfeited in full and the property re- auctioned.
  • A person not belonging to Montserrat who has made a successful bid for the property must apply for a landholding licence to the Registrar of Lands, Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing and the Environment within one week of their bid being accepted and provide the Registrar of the High Court with a copy of their application. If their application is not approved in one month’s time of the date of when it was made the property will be re- auctioned. Note that a person not “belonging to Montserrat” means a person other than a person belonging to Montserrat, and includes a corporation incorporated in Montserrat if it is under the control of a person or persons not belonging to Montserrat as defined by the Landholding Licence Act, and includes every corporation incorporated in any other country; but shall not include any

of the subjects or citizens of a foreign state upon whom there has been conferred by treaty the right to hold land in Montserrat;

“a person belonging to Montserrat” means a person who is deemed to belong to Montserrat under the provisions of section 2(2)(b) of the Immigration Act cap 13. 01.
