Britain’s Prince Harry begins visit to the Caribbean

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua, Nov 21, CMC – Britain’s Prince Harry has started a 15-day visit to the Caribbean that will include stops in Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts-Nevis, St.Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, Barbados, and Guyana.

The highlight of his visit to the region will be to participate in the 35th Anniversary of political Independence in Antigua and Barbuda and the 50th Anniversary of Independence in Barbados and Guyana.

Harry, 32, arrived here on Sunday and was met and greeted at the VC Bird International Airport by Governor General Sir Rodney Williams and Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne.

During his stay here, Prince Harry will engage in a Youth Sports Festival at the Sir Vivian Stadium showcasing Antigua and Barbuda’s national sports, and how these can empower and engage young people.

He will also attend an event at Government House highlighting the important work of a number of charities operating here and will also attend a reception hosted by the Prime Minister and meet a number of young cultural ambassadors from Antigua and Barbuda.

Prince Harry’s next stop will be St. Kitts and Nevis on Wednesday.
