Households on Montserrat are now paying less for liquefied propane gas or cooking gas. The price of a 100lb cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (L.P.G.) is $37.00 less than it was at the start of the year.
A ZJB news report states that “The Ministry of Trade says the price reduction reflects the decline in prices of oil and gas around the world, since January it has been a noticeable and steady decrease in the price of L.P.G. at the start of the year consumers paid $190.00 to refill a 100lb cylinder.”
Acording to the report it says: “Today the price is $153.00, with analysts projecting further reductions in the price of L.P.G. as a result of the over supply situation of petroleum products in the world oil market.”
This information suggests that the 20lb cylinder which was sold in some places for $40.00, the price should now be approximately $32.00 per cylinder.
