Aunt Madge Child Care 2010 Graduation

Graduating from Aunt Madge Child Care

Five students graduated from the Child Care centre on the Sunday afternoon at the St. Martin’s Roman Catholic Church in Salem.

Mr. Denzil West, Director of the Department of Information Technology and e-government Systems (DITES) officiated as the Master of Ceremonies. He is a parent of one of the graduates. He facilitated the two-hour long event, which included presentations from the graduates and the other students of the school age one to five years.

Ms. Nerissa Golden (Director of Information & Communications) also a parent of one of the graduates. She was the featured guest speaker for the ceremony.  She encouraged the parents not to miss the opportunities presented daily to interact with their children and to continue to practice the habits instilled at the daycare.

The five graduating students were: Elissia Daley, Jaena Golden, D’Shaun Reid, Khayla West and Luanna Jarvis. Each child also received a special ring with their initials, sponsored by Aunt Madge and Beni’s Jewelers. Each graduating student received an appropriate certificate, which was presented by Mrs. Patricia West.

Madge “Aunt Madge” Donahue presented the annual report for the school and highlighted the many community groups and agencies, including the Fire Department, the Royal Montserrat Police Force and the Royal Bank of Canada, which enabled them to offer monthly field trips for the students.
