A Poem

Introduction to  –  The Caribbean’s treasure

A volcanic legacy

Located in the Caribbean seas

Formed by nature like jewelry

You were crafted out to be

Montserrat, the Emerald Isle

39 ½ square miles of ham-shape beauty

Your greatness, your tranquility none can deny

Come explore this nature isle

Yes, Montserrat land of the Arrow the soca superstar

The oriole, heliconia, the mountain chicken and all

After you enter, via our hassle-free airport or seaport

You will agree, that is a magnificent island you see

It’s not just the lush green mountains, splendid flora and fauna

That makes this island unique

But its diverse culture, rich heritage and resilient people

Not forgetting its spectacular volcano

We will take you on an adventure

Of hiking, biking or perhaps diving

The Centre Hills is a must see

To get acquainted with the galliwasp and other endemic species

We will introduce you to the Soufriere Hills Volcano

And examine her handiwork

We will take time to pick some mangoes or roast some breadfruits

Take a beach bath or track some turtles

Drink some goat water, and then dance to Hot! Hot! Hot!

Or perhaps the String Band and Masquerade

39 ½ square miles is a whole lot to enjoy

So some time soon, you must return to the Emerald Isle
