A MUCK

by Howard A Fergus

(09.12.2010)

The rabble ran amok

in the citadel today

in broad daylight,

pasting egg on the face

of the mother country.

They pelted the royal seed

with home made terrorist

rocks, and swore obscenities

to demonstrate  the

behaviour of the genteel

class under financial strain.

Children of the empire,

we have been expertly

potty trained and will not follow

this object lesson in loyalty.

We strained  under heavy yokes

wiped our eyes with dirt

swallow we tongue

and swear allegiances

to indiscriminate successors,

so help me God.
