Family Nutrition Kit

Dear Readers,

I would like to bring to the attention of all backyard gardeners an innovative irrigation system we have discovered.

Candia Williams, Will Ryan and I were on a cultural show on Saturday to explain the system, which is very economic and has been designed for use by gardeners/backyard farmers in India.

The Family Nutrition Kit is a complete pack and can provide spot/drip irrigation to up to 44 plants in the ground, pots or boxes. The system is gravity-fed and only requires that the water bag be suspended three feet above the area to be watered.

The cost of each F.N.K. will be between 20 and 30 dollars EC, water useage depending on the area, number of plants and weather conditions will be 5 to 15 litres a day (3 gallons).

We were hoping to be able to get expressions of interest from backyard gardeners here on Montserrat BUT although we were on air for more than an hour the program was swamped by callers wanting to talk about loose livestock, landless farmers, fencing and many other things related to farming.

Not a problem BUT I do not think we got our message across.

This is a co-operative venture , Candia Williams and Will Ryan are both well known for their knowledge and interest in gardening/farming and although I am not in their league I am interested in seeing if it is possible to increase our vegetable output by helping people to grow their own food, especially if children could be encouraged to take an interest in the land.

We asked people to contact us ;
Candia Williams     on 4916579
Will Ryan               on 4912653
Sam Rhys-Williams on 4915354

with expressions of interest so that we can proceed to the next stage and place an order for a number of kits.

We are hoping that many people will want to get involved and take advantage of the opportunity to grow fresh vegetables.

Yours Sincerely

Sam Rhys-Williams
