We are so accustomed to referring to the Spirit as the ‘Holy Spirit' that sometimes we forget He is first and foremost just that - holy. He is many other things besides, but He is preeminently holy. »

John writes,'Do not love the world...' But what does that mean? First, let's look at what it doesn't mean. It doesn't mean being so heavenly minded that you're no earthly use. Loving the Lord more doesn't mean loving those around you less; or feeling awkward around them; or losing touch with them; or not knowing how to communicate with them; or alienating them by giving off signals that you are somehow spiritually superior to them. If'...we have the mind of Christ' (1 Corinthians 2:16 KJV) shouldn't we be as attractive to a lost world as Jesus was?

Hebrews 4:14-16 introduces us to a truth that can transform our prayer lives. It focuses on the person and work of Christ, our great High Priest who helps us in our prayers.'.. .we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God...' »

Once a year Israel's High Priest would walk through the two outer areas of the temple and go into the 'Holy of Holies' to obtain pardon for the people's sins. There were many priests, but only the High Priest could do this. The Bible says that Jesus, our High Priest, passed through the Heavens and entered the Holy Place in the heavenly Temple to offer a 'once-for-all-time' sacrifice for our sins (see Hebrews 9:24-28). »

In the wilderness temptation satan offered Jesus three things. He also offers them to you: »
